I had heard recently that at this year’s VMworld they were going to hold a CEO Roundtable with CEOs of many of the big sponsors of VMworld 2012. That sounded like a cool idea and yesterday the lineup for that roundtable was announced in a press release.
Titled “The Innovation Paradox,” the session will be hosted by VMware CEO Paul Maritz and incoming CEO Pat Gelsinger, and the panelists will include Dell Chairman and CEO Michael Dell, EMC Chairman and CEO Joe Tucci, and NetApp President and CEO Tom Georgens. The roundtable will be moderated by Chris Anderson, editor-in-chief, Wired. The discussion will explore the challenges brought on by the consumerization of IT and, if CIOs are willing to give up some of their control in the old world, how they can actually gain control in the cloud era — ultimately spurring more innovation
The CEO Roundtable is open to all VMworld attendees through standard registration and will take place at 4 p.m. PT on Monday, Aug. 27 at Moscone Center South, Gateway Ballroom 103/104, San Francisco
